Dorothy Inez Nielson Lindsey

Dorothy “Dotti” Inez Nielson Lindsey, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2023 at her home in Lynndyl, Utah. She was born on March 30, 1952 in Richfield, Utah, the fourth of five children born to Rulon Julander and Elizabeth “Beth” Lemmon Nielson. She grew up in Richfield and attended Richfield High School. She married her high school boyfriend, Allen Bosshardt, on October 4, 1969 in Richfield. They had five beloved children together. They later divorced. After some other hard relationships, in 2012 Dorothy finally met the love of her life, Jim Lindsey. They have been wonderful companions to each other ever since.

Dorothy spent her life in service to others. She worked many years as the head Cook at the Sevier County Jail. She took good care of the inmates, and made many friends among them. Some were known to specifically look out for her well-being. She also made sure to provide excellent meals for the Sevier County officers when they stopped in. She will also be remembered for her time as cashier at the Lynndyl Store between 2008 and 2014.

Her greatest service was always to her family. She loved quilting and made dozens of quilts through the years to celebrate her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her family outdoors, camping and fishing, especially up at Big Lake near Richfield. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she would start looking for the perfect gift for next Christmas on December 26. She never missed attending all the activities of her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending car shows throughout the state with Bonnie and David, and was a great help during the car show in Delta. Dorothy loved the Utah Jazz. A highlight of her life was when her son was able to get her in to meet Marvin Williams and DeMarre Carroll and a tour of the arena.

Dorothy was a constant part of the lives of her children and grandchildren. Every night she individually sent each one a text, “Night. Love You! ❤❤” to let them know how much she cared. She will be deeply missed.

Dorothy is survived by her loving companion: Jim Lindsey, Lynndyl; children: Blaine (Michelle) Bosshardt, Orem; Bonnie (David) Frandsen, Leamington; Becky (Brian) Brower, Eagle Mountain; Brian (Brooke) Bosshardt, Provo; Brad (Ashley) Bosshardt, Eagle Mountain; 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; sister: Jenavie Johnson Ricksecker; brother: Jerald Nielson; and her special niece: Roxy; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Larry Nielson; and sister: Maxine Nielson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 1, 11:00am at the Leamington LDS Chapel, 90 Center St. A Viewing will be held Friday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service.  Those unable to attend are invited to view the recorded video of the service. Burial followed in the Richfield City Cemetery.
