Mabel Gertrude Parker Bonner will be interred in the family plot in the Delta City Cemetery on March 23, at 11:00 a.m. alongside her niece Marlene Caroselli. Mabel was born March 9, 1910 in Blissfield, Lenawee, Michigan to Burton Levi and Maida May Fritz Parker. She passed away on November 23, 2005 in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts. Her request before her death was her remains be brought back to the West Desert.
She came to Utah with her family when her father was transferred to Utah with the Sugar Factory. She attended and graduated from Delta High School in 1927, and then moved to San Francisco where she met her husband, Clarence Carroll Bonner. Clarence was career military and, over the years, they lived in many states and spent some years in France. After his retirement the family settled in Clarence’s home town of Fall River, Massachusetts.
After 25 years, Mabel retired form Sears, Roebuck and Company and then worked another 25 years for Bonner Flowers in Fall River. She retired at age 85.
Mabel is survived by her son: Howard “Howie” Bonner; daughter-in-law: Rosemarie “Jo” Barboza Bonner; granddaughter: Cheryl Bonner; and grandson: James Bonner. Welcome Home, Aunt Mabel!
