Sherree Ann Howell Miles Wendland

Sherree Ann Howell Miles Wendland, age 76, passed away on April 23, 2026 in Delta, Utah. Sherree was born on August 16, 1949 in Delta, to Ezra Morgan and Fay Nell Brinkerhoff Howell. She was the fifth of seven kids and grew up helping out on the family farm. She graduated from Delta High School, and then attended some college.

Sherree married Robert Lee Miles, after which she acquired an acronym nickname that would stay with her the rest of her life: Sherree Ann Miles - ‘Sam’. They made their home in Abraham and had two sons together. The couple, however, eventually divorced, and Sam moved to Delta to raise her boys. She worked as a waitress at The Rancher Café and made many friends.

Sherree moved her family to Elko, Nevada in 1988. She was constantly supportive of her boys, attending and loudly cheering at all their sporting competitions. She soon met Michael Douglas Wendland. They where happily married in Elko on September 26, 1992.

Sherree loved to have fun and spend time with her many friends. She spent many weekends having barbeques, gossiping and laughing. She was absolutely devoted to her kids and protect them against anything. We will miss the many great experiences she brought to our lives.

Sherree is survived by husband: Mike Wendland; sons: Cody Miles, and Cheyenne (Stacy Nelsen) Miles; grandchildren: Michael, Wylee, Piper, Ezra and Bodhi; siblings: Chuck, Barbara, Sam, Richard and Tony. She is preceded in death by her parents: Morgan and Fay Howell; and sister: Norma.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 8, at 11:00 am, at the Nickle Mortuary Chapel, 190 South Center Street. A Viewing will be held 9:30–10:40 am, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Oasis Cemetery.
