Margaret Marie Whiteley Stanworth

June 2, 1945 — April 18, 2026

Oasis, Utah

Margaret Marie Whiteley Stanworth, known to all who loved her as Marie, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on April 18, 2026, at the age of 80. Marie was born on June 2, 1945 in Oakland, California to William Daniel and Donna Edwards Whiteley. She would spend the majority of her life in Oasis, Utah, where she built a beautiful life with her eternal companion of 60 years, Roger Earl Stanworth.

Marie graduated from Delta High School, and then attended Brigham Young University. She dazzled Roger’s eye from across the room at a university event, after which he devised a plan to get an introduction. And that was all he needed. Marie and Roger were married on March 31, 1966, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they created a home centered on faith, family, and love, raising their children on a cherished family farm.

Marie was a devoted mother to her four children. Her family was the center of everything she did. She was always loving and always supportive. In recent years, she could most often be found in the bleachers, cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events—never just watching, but fully invested in every moment. She also loved playing Nintendo and video games with her children and grandchildren, always competitive, always engaged, and always giving her very best. She never sat on the sidelines; she was always right in the middle of the action.

Marie faithfully served many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Relief Society President and in the Stake Relief Society Presidency. Her life was a reflection of her deep and unwavering faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and she found great joy in attending the temple.

Marie will be remembered for her strength, her devotion, her lively spirit, and the deep, abiding love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she nurtured and the memories that will be cherished forever.

Marie is survived by her husband: Roger; children: Lisa (Scott) Dedrickson; Wendy (Oren) Bliss; Matt (Jill) Stanworth; and David Stanworth. A proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Also survived by her brother: Dr. William Daniel Whiteley (Judith Veronica). She is preceded in death by her parents: William and Donna Whiteley.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 11:30a.m., at the Oasis Cemetery. A Viewing will be held, 9:30-11:00a.m., at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 South Center St., Delta, before traveling to the cemetery.

Her family finds comfort in the knowledge that she is reunited with loved ones and at peace. They look forward to the day they will see her again.
