Kathleen Farnsworth, age 70, signed off from her earthly broadcast from heart failure on October 26, 2026, in St. George, Utah.
Kathleen was born on July 19, 1956, in Delta, Utah to Frank Gale and Norma Kimber Farnsworth. She had fond memories of her childhood growing up in Logan, Utah; Mesquite, Nevada; Pleasant Grove, Utah; Huntsville, Utah (where she and her sisters got to attend Primary with the Osmond kids); and Delta, Utah. She graduated from Delta High in 1974, where she was active in student government, activities, and made many lifetime friends.
In 1975, she attended Snow College in Ephriam, Utah. While there she found her lifelong passion – broadcasting. She worked in Radio Broadcasting from 1975, until her retirement in 2021. Her career took her to many stations in Utah, Michigan, Idaho, Oregon, and California, with a brief stint in television as a News Anchor for KOTI in Klamath Falls, Oregon (a couple of her bloopers made it on Dick Clark’s show, one of which featured her saying, “Bumping and grinding” instead of “Bumping and spiking”, when referring to a local volleyball tournament). She thoroughly enjoyed her time on the airwaves.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Janet and LuAnne; and her younger brother: Owen. She is survived by her brothers: Mike of Lincoln City, Oregon; Neil (Sheri) of St. George, Utah; and a sister-in-law: Rebecca Brown of Smithfield, Utah; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, two aunts, and many, many friends.
Per Kathy’s request, there will be no public services. Her wish was to be cremated and her remains taken to Newport, Oregon where she was the happiest. The family thanks Temple View Senior Living and the residents there that made the 5 months she spent with them so enjoyable. We know the heavenly reunion is sweet.
“This is Kathy Kraken, The Mid-Day Momma, Just Kathy, Kathy Farnsworth signing off. Thanks for turning me on.”
