Glenda Rae Luke Yates

Glenda Rae Luke Yates, age 73, returned to her Heavenly Father on September 18, 2026 in Delta Utah after a brave struggle with a terminal illness. She was born on April 30, 1953 in Vallejo, California. She was adopted by Ray H. and Lola Fenstermaker Luke of Midway, Utah. As a young girl, she grew up in Midway and then her family moved to Provo.

As a teen, Glenda would spend a month each summer staying with her cousin Charlie, working at the Timp Freeze Drive-In (which was family owned) and having fun with all her Midway cousins - riding horses, and cruising down Main Street in Heber. All of her family there loved her.

Glenda was a cheerleader at Dixon Junior High School and then graduated from Provo High School. She married Mont Dee Yates on July 27, 1979 in Nephi, Utah. She then became a mother to Cody (in 1980) and Rowdy (in 1981). She was employed at Signetics in Orem for several years before she and Mont moved to Delta where they have lived until her death.

She was an avid bowler, enjoying spending time with her friends. She worked at Steve Reagan Company for 40 years, brightening the day of her many customers and getting to know most all the area’s farmers. Glenda was also a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Glenda is survived by her loving husband: Mont; her children: Cody (Morgan) Yates and Rowdy (Chezne) Yates; her stepchildren: Brandy (Josh) Houx, and Bobbie Hancock; along with 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson. Glenda is preceded in death by her parents: Ray and Lola Luke; and her sister: Charlotte Coots.

Glenda Rae was a loving wife, mom and grandmother. We thank you for everything you gave us and for the love you shared with us. You will always have a place in our hearts, and your memory will live on through the people who loved you.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, at 11:00 am, at the Delta LDS Stake Center Chapel, 125 White Sage Ave. Viewings will be held Friday evening, 6:00-8:00 pm, at the Nickle Mortuary; and Saturday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Those unable to attend in person may view the recorded video of the service. Link will be posted with her obituary at www.nicklemortuary.com following the conclusion of the service. Burial in the Delta City Cemetery.
