Evelyn Davis Hardy, age 93, passed away on June 26, 2026 in St. George Utah in the loving care of the angels at Sterling Court. Evelyn was born on July 19, 1932 in Sugarville, Utah to Venice Barben Davis and Leo Davis. She married Leonard Clark Hardy on April 12, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. Raised on a farm in Sugarville, near Delta, Utah, Evelyn graduated from Delta High School and attended Brigham Young University and LDS Business College. Evelyn worked as a secretary in several locations including the Aetna Insurance Company, Vegas Village, an anesthesiologist office, and the Millard County School District.
Clark and Evelyn started their family in Las Vegas where six boys were born to them. The first baby was stillborn, but he was followed by five healthy brothers. The family moved to the Delta, Utah area in 1973 where their sons completed high school and Clark and Evelyn eventually retired. Retirement brought Clark and Evelyn to St. George, Utah where Clark had lived as a young boy. Evelyn was a life-long, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Clark served a mission together in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Mission.
Known in many circles as the “Energizer Bunny”, Evelyn was full of life and adventure. She and Clark liked to travel during their retirement years. They tried to plan one major trip each year along with many smaller ones. Visiting their family members was always a good reason for a trip.
After Clark died in 2009, Evelyn continued to travel, but to a lesser degree. She was able to fulfill her life-long dream to visit Canada and see Lake Louise. She had written a report about Lake Louise as a schoolgirl and had always wanted to see that beautiful place.
In 2016, Evelyn was diagnosed with developing vascular dementia, and she decided to move to Sterling Court Assisted Living and on to a new adventure. At first she continued her high energy ways and attended every activity that the place offered. She loved living at Sterling Court, and she made many wonderful friends there.
Evelyn is survived by her brother: Donald (LaRene) Davis; sons: Leonard (Ronda) Hardy, Robert (Melanie) Hardy, Paul Hardy, Mark Hardy; daughter-in-law: Cheryl Hardy; 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband: Clark Hardy; parents, sisters: Lois Greene and June Lounsbury; son: David Hardy; and daughter-in-law: Roberta Hardy.
Evelyn's family wishes to express appreciation to the caregivers at Sterling Court and Canyon Home Care and Hospice.
