Bruce Bunker

February 12, 1959 — May 13, 2025

Leeds, Utah

Bruce Bunker passed away peacefully at his home in Leeds, Utah on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. He had been battling cancer for the past several months.

Bruce was born in Deseret, Utah on February 12, 1959, to Boyd Lamond and Lenora Broderick Bunker. He was the third child and considerably younger than his siblings, Ken and Pam. He spent his youth in Deseret and Sutherland and graduated from Delta High School.

Bruce married Marcie Ferman, later divorced. They have a daughter, Cassandra.

Bruce was a very hard worker, and spent most of his adult life working on drill rigs, which took him to other states, including Alaska, Colorado, and Nevada. His heart was always in Utah, and after returning here, he worked and lived in both the Salt Lake City and St. George areas.

Bruce was an avid fisherman and knew the streams and lakes in Utah as well as anyone. He would have loved to fish every day if possible. Anyone was welcome to go fishing with him and would usually receive a smoked fish from Bruce as a reward for spending the day with him. He was very generous with his time, and willing to help friends and family whenever needed.

Bruce loved to ride his Harley and was a member of several motorcycle clubs. He was a devoted member of AA and made many lifelong friendships there. He attended meetings regularly and often contributed by sharing his story and singing. Bruce was a sponsor for many others in AA and he always went above and beyond to help anyone dealing with the same downfalls that he dealt with in his own life.

Bruce was always a big personality, life of the party and was quite the renaissance man. He loved to sing karaoke, fly his kite, entertain you with his huge bubble show and was just generally fun to be around.

Bruce is survived by his daughter: Cassandra (Jerred) Palmisano; grandson: Daniel Bunker; brother: Ken (Dawn) Bunker; and sister: Pamela Olsen; nieces: Andee Church, Gabrielle Bunker, Hillary Lehman; nephews: Adam Church, Morgan Church. He was proceeded in death by his parents and nephew: Abel Church.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 14, at the Hinckley Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Those unable to attend are invited to view the video of the service. Link will be posted with his obituary at www.nicklemortuary.com following the service.
