Burial in the Deseret Cemetery

Byron LaVoy Erickson

Byron LaVoy Erickson, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2022 at his home in Deseret, Utah. He was born on November 20, 1969 in Delta, Utah to Eldon LaVoy and Carolyn Limb Erickson. He is the fourth oldest of the 8 children in his family. He grew up in Delta and graduated from Delta High School in 1988.

Byron has worked for many businesses in the Delta area. He worked for Delta Valley Cheese, for Carquest Auto Parts, and most recently for the Delta Jubilee. However, most people will remember Byron for his many years as manager of the Plaza Lanes Bowling Alley. He served in that position for 18 years and did whatever he could creatively think of to keep the machines running. Byron enjoyed bowling, as well and hunting and, over the years, amassed an outstanding collection of different coins. Byron enjoyed lending his assistance to his community. He assisted in the church basketball league for seven years, and especially enjoyed his many years being involved with the Hinckley Lions’ Demolition Derby.

Byron is survived by his mother: Carolyn Erickson, Deseret; brothers: Ray (Linda) Humes, American Fork; James (Michelle) Humes, Lehi; Wade (Angie) Erickson, Casper, Wyoming; Jason (Heather) Erickson, Santaquin; Ricky Erickson, Oasis; sisters: Teresa and Elaina Erickson, both of Deseret. He was preceded in death by his father: LaVoy Erickson.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 20, at 11:00 am, at the Deseret Cemetery, 4100 West 4000 South. Online condolences may be shared at www.nicklemortuary.com
