Burial in the Delta City Cemetery

Joshua Andrew Hatch

JoshuaHatch1.webJoshua Andrew Hatch, age 44, passed away suddenly on April 25, 2022 at his home in Abraham, Utah. He was born on October 13, 1977 in Bountiful, Utah to Mark Taft and Carolyn Sue Wilberg Hatch. He is the youngest of the 10 children in his family. He spent his early years growing up in Woods Cross, Utah. While he was still little, his family moved to the farm in Abraham, Utah. Josh really took to farming with his dad. His siblings thought of him as his dad’s shadow, riding in the tractor and tending the fields. He graduated from Delta High School in 1995, and continued to provide valuable support and help to the family farm.

Josh married Elizabeth Bishop on February 23, 1998 in Delta, Utah; and he soon became the proud father of his son, Shaun Andrew. Josh later divorced.

Josh loved spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, rockhounding and shooting - especially if he had his son, Shaun, along on the adventure. He enjoyed spending many evenings working on cars and engines with Shaun, even if he was the one getting instructions from his boy.

Josh was a true gentle giant. His 6' 4" frame contained a hardworking, kind and generous soul. He was often very quiet, but loved spending time with his family. He would never miss a family gathering with his brothers and sisters, and, even when he didn’t have a lot money, was the “cool uncle” showering gifts on his niece and nephew. Josh will always be remembered for the truly kind and good man he was, and how he cared about the people in his life. He will be deeply missed.

Josh is survived by his son: Shaun; brothers and sisters: Catherine Larsen; Ferrell Hatch; Annette Allen; Dian (Ken) Williams; Jeffrey (Tanya) Hatch; Jabe Hatch; Ruth (Leon) Pettitt; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mark and Carolyn Hatch; and brothers: Steven and Bradford Hatch.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 6, at 11:00 am, at the Sutherland LDS Chapel, 2650 North 3000 West. A Viewing will be held on Friday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.nicklemortuary.com
