Judith Rae Pritchard Ogle, age 82, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Delta, Utah. She was born on July 9, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, the second child of the 9 children of David William “D.W.” and Violet Mae Philips Pritchard. She grew up in Youngstown with her four sisters and four brothers. Even as a little girl, she loved to play school. She would always play as the teacher. Her play eventually became reality, and Judith would become an outstanding teacher, director of School for Beginning Years (an outstanding pre-K program) and caregiver to many children. Judith was a teacher for 35 years and had a huge impact on many lives.
Judy’s family moved to Whittier, California when she was a young girl. She graduated from California High School in Whittier. She married Johnny Ogle when she was 19 years old. They were married for 23 years and had three wonderful children together.
Judy remained in Whittier for most of her life. She loved to walk. She would walk 3 to 5 miles everyday, enjoying being outdoors. She also loved her dogs and her cats. However, the absolute highlight of Judy’s life was her family.
Judy’s eldest son, Scott Ogle, passed away about 10 years ago. He and his wife, Cindy, had three children: Mike, her eldest grandson, when he was little said, “Grandma - don’t you ever die because then who would buy me bananas?” Gregory and Jamie came next, about whom Judy would say, “I swear they have a language all their own.
Judy’s son, Danny Ogle, and his wife, Brenda, are the parents of three children. Tiffany was her first granddaughter. Judy would often take her with her to work at school. She absolutely adored Tiffany. They would go to restaurants and pretend to order coffee together when she was 3. Shawna was next, beautiful and stubborn. She enjoyed being carried on her mom’s hip until she was 5. Grandma Judy would say, “I don’t know if Shawna is ever going to walk.” Then came Dani Rae. On the trip to SeaWorld, Grandma Judy just loved pushing her in the stroller and bragging, “She is just the sweetest thing ever known!”
Judy’s daughter Robin Stinson, and her husband Ronald, raised two children. Nick was the youngest grandchild, and yes, Grandma Judy adored him too. He was her little man from a toddler until even after he graduated high school. He was her little man even at 6' 4½”, and she only came up to his belly button. She would not miss any of his football games, even if she had to sit in the rain. Krista Stinson Dupas, a granddaughter full of sunshine, always seeing the best in everything. Grandma Judy would watch Krista running around doing this and that and say, “Krista is like a ray of sunshine and her smile just makes me Happy!”
She also had 15 great-grandchildren: Kamron, Chance, Riley, Briana, Sea-aira, Ansley, Fiona, Dominque, Canon, Max, Bradley, Nolan, Taelyn, DaeDae, and Declan. Judy absolutely loved to sing, especially to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Judy is also survived by her sisters: Joy Cravens, Janet Albera, Jean Sugars, and June Jones. She was preceded in death by her son: Scott; and all her brothers: Jeff, Jimmy, Dave and Jack.
Judy was a daughter, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and sister; she was beloved and a treasured friend. A fiery light has gone out. Her soul is now free.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 2, at 11:00 am, at the Nickle Mortuary Chapel. A Viewing will be held 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Friends unable to attend in person are invited to view the recorded video of the Service. Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
