She was born on June 3, 1943 in Dickens County, Texas, the youngest of the three children of Franklin Edward and Mattie Ruth Gage Winfield. She grew up in Delta, Utah and attended Delta High School.

Dana raised and loved her four sons. In 1978 she earned her certification as a beautician from Salt Lake Community College, and opened her own beauty salon. Dana was an elegant woman. She was an excellent cook, skilled at sewing and enjoyed gardening and had an immaculate yard. She also enjoyed her time spent outdoors on  camping and fishing trips. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and went all out to make the celebrations memorable. Above all, Dana's greatest joy was her family. She loved and doted on her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Dana is survived by her sons: Joe (Richelle) Wilkins, Woodland Hills; Jerry Todd; DeVere Wilkins, Springville; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and sister: Jean Gordon. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Dixon Wilkins; and brother: Carl Winfield.
