Charles Frederick Harlow

Charles Frederick Harlow “Fred”, age 90, of Buford, Georgia died peacefully at his home on June 28, 2021. He was born on March 27, 1931 in Union City, Indiana to Eugene Ewing and Margaret Elizabeth Rice Harlow.

Fred attended Union City (IN) High School, Hanover College (B.A. 1953) and Indiana University (M.B.A. 1957). He enlisted in the U.S. Army in August 1953 and was honorably discharged in June 1955. After military service and graduate school, he enjoyed a long career in accounting and financial management with chemical, publishing and medical products concerns.

The most significant events in Fred’s life were joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (in 1956), and marrying the love of his life, Ardythe Twitchell, in the Salt Lake Temple (in 1961). Serving in the Church brought him great joy and included assignments in three bishoprics, including serving as a bishop of the Murray, Utah Third Ward; in two stake presidencies; as a senior missionary with his wife to Houston, Texas; and as a Sealer in the Atlanta Georgia Temple. He loved his church friends and associations.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife: Ardythe; children: Elizabeth Harlow Miller (Robert) and Charles Frederick Harlow, Jr. (Lisie). He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ruben DiMarco (Bre), Nathan DiMarco (Natalia), Benjamin DiMarco, Jonathan DiMarco (Kody), Abigail Harlow, Caroline Harlow, Aaron Miller, Triniti Miller, Avari DiMarco, Luca DiMarco, and Francesca DiMarco. Fred was preceded in death by his father: Eugene Ewing Harlow; mother: Margaret Elizabeth Rice Harlow Feltman; and sister: Elizabeth Jean Harlow Walters.

Funeral Services were held in Buford, Georgia on Saturday, July 10. A Burial Service with military rites will be held on Saturday, July 17, at 11:00 am in the Delta City Cemetery. A video recording of the service is available at: https://youtu.be/mOgU4frM_ew.
