Betty Lou Ozment McCann Adams

Betty Lou Ozment McCann Adams , age 90, passed away on June 16, 2021 in Delta, Utah.  She was born April 15, 1931 in Flippin, Arkansas to John Franklin  and Uvelda James Ozment.  She married the love of her life, Victor Zane McCann, on December 16, 1950 in Oakdale, California.  They moved to Beaver, Utah in 1951.  Together they started a family and had three children.  In 1972, she helped to found and run Vic’s Drilling, serving the people of Southern Utah and South-Eastern Nevada.  Betty was a very devoted wife and mother.  She was very active in the Beaver community and dedicated many hours to the Boy Scout programs.  After Vic’s death in 1978, Betty moved to Salt Lake City.  Betty worked as a bookkeeper for several years, a talent she perfected while running the family business in Beaver. In 1981, she met Donald Handy Adams and they later married in 1983.  Betty and Don lived together in Salt Lake City for 21 years.  They were members of a Good Sam’s Chapter called “The Beehive Roamers” and enjoyed numerous outings traveling in their motorhome with their friends.  They prided themselves on having traveled to nearly two thirds of the United States.  They particularly enjoyed their “snow bird” travels to warmer climates during the cold Utah winters.  In 2004, Betty and Don relocated to Delta, Utah where they bought their final home together.  Betty enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch and many other crafts.  She took great pride in her grandchildren and her great grandchildren whom all affectionately called her “Nana”.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; brother: William Lee Ozment; 1st husband: Victor Zane McCann; 2nd husband: Donald Handy Adams; daughter: Vicki Lou McCann Walk; sons: Jerry Lee McCann and Bruce Franklin McCann. She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Penny McCann, Delta; 8 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Millard Care & Rehabilitation who worked with such love and devotion in caring for Betty the last several years.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, at 11:00 am, at the Beaver 3rd Ward LDS Church, 220 North Main Street. A Viewing will be held 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Beaver City Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.nicklemortuary.com
