Delores Petersen Stanworth, age 62, of Delta, Utah, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018, in Provo, Utah, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 19, 1956, in Delta, Utah, to Earl and Afton Talbot Petersen. She moved to Arizona when she was young and graduated from Wilcox High School. Attended the College of Eastern Arizona. After college she moved back to Delta and began working for Valley Bank. She married Doug Stanworth on May 8, 1984 in the Jordan River LDS Temple. After retiring from banking, she spent 30 plus years as a homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother – until experiencing the joy of being a grandmother. Delores was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many different callings. She spent the last 5 years as a temple ordinance worker in the Manti and Payson Temples.
She is survived by her husband Doug; children: John (Melanie) Stanworth, Cedar City, Utah; Katelyn (Tanner) Richins, Logan, Utah; and Stephen Stanworth, Delta, Utah; 4 grandchildren; 5 siblings: Diane Jack, Donald Petersen, Kathleen Goodwin, Kim Petersen, and Lynn Petersen; and her mother: Afton. She was preceded in death by her father: Earl and her brother: David.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, at 11:00 AM, in the Deseret-Oasis LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:40 am. Burial will be in the Oasis Cemetery.
