Christina Tarin Spencer

ChristinaSpencer2.webChristina Tarin Spencer, our amazing wife, mother, sister, and friend, returned to her Father in Heaven and loved ones that passed before her on Friday, November 2, 2018 in Provo, Utah. Christina was a selflessly devoted mother and wife. She touched the lives of all of her family, hundreds of friends, coworkers, and many others she came into contact with. She had a competitive spirit and courageously fought cancer twice with grace, dignity, and a determined conviction. Christina loved to cheer on her children in their various sports and activities; she rarely missed a game or a cheerleading performance. She had a contagious zest for life and appreciation for the beauty of the earth.

Christina was born on April 30, 1962 to Francisco and Teresa Durán Tarin in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Academia Juarez in Colonia Juarez and later proudly received an Associate’s Degree from Utah Valley University.

She married Ronald Spencer on January 3, 1986 in Sutherland, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on November 12, 1988. They lived in Delta, where they raised their children and Christina worked as a dedicated employee of IPSC for 33 years before retiring earlier this year. They later moved to Payson where Christina honorably served her church as a temple worker and as Relief Society President in the Payson 16th ward.

She is survived by her husband: Ronald Spencer; three children: Rick (Keely) Spencer, Brittany (Ben) Nielsen, Tyler (Katherine) Spencer; mother: Teresa Duran De la Cruz; siblings: Dora (Jesse) Rodriguez, Memo (Sue) Tarin, Joe (Ovidia) Tarin, Marina (Armando) Barrera, Diana (Felipe) Barrera; mother-in-law: Dorothy Spencer; sisters-in-law: Claire Alldredge, Shirley Reynolds; brothers-in-law: Stan Spencer and Brent (Yvonne) Spencer. She is preceded in death by her father: Francisco Tarin; brother: Javier Tarin; and sister: Blanca Cervantes Tarin.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 9, at 11:00 am, at the Payson LDS Stake Center, 650 West 800 South in Payson, Utah. Viewings will be held at the Payson LDS Stake Center on Thursday, 6:00-8:00 pm; and Friday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Burial Service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Hinckley, Utah Cemetery.
