Sally Hoyle Eliason

Sally Hoyle Eliason, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City. She was born on August 21, 1951 in Richfield, Utah, the oldest of five children, to Richard Marsden and Beverly J Heilsen Hoyle. She graduated from Richfield High School where she participated in basketball and swimming. She attended BYU, and then went on an LDS mission serving in the Portland, Oregon Mission. When she returned, she found employment in Salt Lake City. There she caught the eye of Martin Lincoln Eliason. They were married on September 4, 1980 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

They made there home in Salt Lake City and raised a family. Sally worked many years as the office manager at Hunter Medical in West Valley. She loved her job and the people she worked with and served. She loved being a mother. She became the mother of four children and through the years fostered over 50 kids in her home. She was supportive of all her kids activities. She was an excellent cook and made sure everyone was well fed. We will always remember the many Christmas treats she distributed to her friends every year. She loved “girl trips” with her sisters, playing card games, doing puzzles, conservative politics, movies, camping and fishing. More than anything she loved being with her family, children and grandkids.

Sally was a member of the LDS Church and had a strong testimony. She was strong willed and determined. When she was diagnosed with cancer she was told she probably would not live beyond three years. She fought a long battle to remain with her family as long as she could and extended it to eight years. We will all miss her generous spirit and caring gifts she gave us all.

Sally is survived by her husband: Martin; children: Derrick (Ashley) Eliason, Alex Eliason, Rashelle Eliason, A.J. Eliason; grandchildren: Brynlee, Madisyn, Camden, and Emrey; siblings: Jane Strottner, Kelly (Carey) Hoyle, David (Janet) Hoyle, Jana Hoyle. She was preceded in death by her parents: Richard and Beverly Hoyle.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7, 12:00 noon, at the Deseret-Oasis Ward LDS Chapel, 3423 W 4500 S, Deseret. Friends may call 10:30-11:40 am, prior to the service. Burial will be at the Deseret Cemetery.
