Collins Anderson "Dutch" Fullmer

CollinsFullmer2.webSLC, UT-Collins Anderson “Dutch” Fullmer, age 86, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 after an eight year struggle with dementia. Collins was born on November 19, 1930 (12 minutes older than his twin brother, Kenneth) in Abraham, Utah, to Elmer Linus and Gladys Anderson Fullmer. He received his education in Delta, Utah and was preparing to leave for a mission to Oregon, when he received orders to report for duty in the US Army, and served for three years in the Korean War. He robbed the cradle when he met and later married Connie Jean Unsworth on June 26, 1964 in the Logan temple. They were blessed with three children:  Julie Ann (James) Hackett of South Jordan, Caleen (Drake) Marques of Riverton, and Jeffrey Collins (Becky) of Eagle Mountain.

Collins’ career started as a well-loved barber in the Harvard/Yale area with Ingvar’s Barbershop, but unfortunately, with the popularity of long hair in the 60’s, he decided future demand on his services could be limited. He explored a new love of trains and eventually retired from the Denver Rio Grande Railroad. Always a jokester, he was continually looking for the chance to show you his favorite magic trick or his favorite jokes. He could fix anything and was always our “go to guy” when needing a tool, flashlight or auto mechanic.

Survived by wife: Connie, 3 children, 8 grandchildren:  Brianna & Chris Marques, Reagan & Reilly Hackett, Dallin (currently serving a mission in Mexico), Dane, Easton & Madux Fullmer; and 3 great-grandchildren: Samantha and Max Michel ,and Grayson Kirby. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Kenneth and Glen, and sisters: Ila and Helen. Also survived by sister: Nedra (Lon) Jackson of Sutherland, UT; and many cherished in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services on Saturday, January 14, at 2pm at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 S Center, Delta. Viewing: 12:30-1:40pm prior to services. Burial in the Delta City Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.nicklemortuary.com.
