Nelson Dean Stringer, age 40, passed away on January 1, 2017 in Fairplay, Colorado. He was born on April 17, 1976 in Benson, Arizona, the sixth of eight children of William Lee and Rebecca Lou Rogers Stringer. Nelson spent the first seven years of his life in Arizona and New Mexico. In 1983, Nelson’s family moved to the Delta, Utah area. He graduated from Delta High School in 1994. While attending DHS, he developed a strong interest in and ability to work with his hands, especially in woodshop. He moved to Colorado and worked as a journeyman press operator. Later, his interests in repairing and maintaining automobiles led him to the auto parts business, where he was a general store manager for a national chain. He maintained his passion for handywork even after highschool. He was a craftsman, and enjoyed a challenging project. Those who were close to Nelson described him as a perfectionist who never cut corners. It is said that he would “over-engineer” to be safe, and he loved to see the outcome of a finished project.

Dean married his first wife, Stacy Willmore, in 1998 in Denver, Colorado. They had two daughters: Kaitlyn and Ashley. Later divorced. Dean married Erdenechimeg “Chimeg” Choijilsuren on May 11, 2009 in Littleton, Colorado bringing two step-daughters: Haruna and Anar into his life. They had another little girl, Nomin. He enjoyed his kids and was very patient with people, situations and life.
