Lawrence Lynn Densley

LawrenceDensley2.webLawrence "Larry" Lynn Densley, age 83 of Oak City, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2016. He was born at his family home on February 11, 1933 in Riverton, Utah to Aaron Lynn and Vera May Porter Densley. He was the baby of the family, and was loved and spoiled by his older sisters, Marjorie and Janice. He began working at Riverton Motor at the age of 9 and began a love affair with cars that continued throughout his life.

After graduating from Jordan High School in 1951, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Seabees aboard the USS Sperry and USS Bushnell. In 1955, a visit to St. Mark's Hospital after being bucked from a horse led him to ask out a pretty student nurse by the name of Margaret Anne Sheriff. They eloped and were married in Elko, Nevada on July 24, 1955. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Manti LDS Temple on April 27, 1963.

He worked at various jobs throughout his life, working for Los Angeles County (CA), the Ogden Ironworks, and as a truck driver. In 1969, Larry and Margaret moved their family to Oak City; and he went to work at Brush Wellman where he made lifelong friends. His most recent job was with Sahara Motors delivering cars. He loved his co-workers at Sahara like his own family.

Larry loved talking to people, and had many friends all over town. He loved driving and hitting the open road. His greatest joy was his family, and he loved nothing better than having them around him.

He is survived by his children: Colleen D. (Lynn) Banks; David L. (Paula) Densley; Quinn S. Densley; and Aaron W. (Barbara) Densley. He was a loving grandfather to Paige B. Shelton, Kellie B. Thayne, Adam L. Banks, Corinn B. Sessions, Kiersten R. Densley, Drew D. Densley, Macey L. Smith, and Jill Lloyd; and great-grandfather of 9. He was preceded in death by his wife: Margaret S. Densley; son: Larry S. Densley; parents: A. Lynn and Vera P. Densley; sisters: Marjorie D. Martin and Janice D. Steadman; and a brother: Ray Densley.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, at 12:00 Noon, at the Oak City LDS Chapel, 35 East Center St. Viewings will be held Sunday, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 S Center St; and Monday, 10:30-11:40 a.m., prior to the service. Interment with military rites will be in the Oak City Cemetery.
