MarloSagers2.webMarloSagers3.webMarlo William Sagers, 76, succumbed peacefully to cancer while sleeping in the early hours of Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Highland, Utah. He was born November 9, 1938 to Earl and Donna (Langston) Sagers in Delta, Utah. He married Heide Eckhardt on September 15, 1962 for time and eternity in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple. He graduated from Delta High School in 1957 and served an LDS mission in Germany from 1959-1962. He continued his education and graduated from Brigham Young University with a music education master’s degree in 1965. Marlo taught junior high chorus, music, and German classes for 31 years and tuned pianos for 26 years. He loved music and was an accomplished singer, guitarist, and guitar builder. Besides his hobbies and interests, Marlo was generous with his time and talents throughout his entire life. He was a loving father, husband, opa and friend to all.

Marlo is survived by his wife: Heide, of 52 years; daughter: Heather (Wes) Lyon; his 3 sons: Erich (Kristen), Ryan (Denise), and Mark (Tenille) Sagers; and 13 loving grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Donna Sagers; sister: Jennie Nelson; and in-laws: Elsa Klug and Karl Erich Eckhardt.

5The family would like to extend special thanks to Marlo’s friend and physician, Dr. Von Welch, and hospice care nurse, Betsy.

A Viewing will be held, 6:00-8:00pm, Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Highland 31st Ward Chapel, 11162 North Alpine Highway, Highland, UT. Funeral will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the same chapel. Interment will follow at the Delta, UT Cemetery at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation or the charity of your choice.
