Burial in Delta City Cemetery.

Steven Carl Pace

Steven Carl Pace, beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend, died peacefully in Maple Grove, Minnesota, on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 surrounded by his family after a long battle with a terminal illness. Steve was 63. He will be remembered for his strength, courage, toughness, generosity, knowledge, and keen wit. His love of family, fishing, hunting, adventure and sports resonated to his final breath and, no doubt, his spirit lives on in the woods, hills, lakes, golf courses, and ballparks.

Steven was born on November 16, 1950 in Delta, Utah to Carl Marion and Velda Boothe Pace. He grew up on a farm and inherited a tenacious ethic for hard work from his mother and father. He graduated from BYU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1975. Married Deborah Holker on February 3, 1978 in Delta.

Steve’s career as a Financial Advisor was one of remarkable success and allowed him to take great pride in his role as provider for his family. Always generous with his time and advice he was a sounding board for clients, friends and family who knew time with him was precious and special. He worked hard and enjoyed his free time, “Getting food for the family,” as he so cleverly referred to his time spent hunting and fishing.

Steve is preceded in death by his father: Carl. He is survived by his mother: Velda; wife: Deborah (Holker); children: Erik, Jefferson and Brent; brother: Jay; sisters: Karen (Ted) Bennett; Colleen (Bill) Traue; Joan (Steve) Dutson; Connie (Felix) Cruz; and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 11:00 AM at the Delta LDS Stake Center, 125 White Sage Ave. A viewing will be held from 9:30 - 10:40 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
